Dan Balk's jewelry collections are hand made in his studio at Singing Stone. Dan is an award winning artist and has been
accepted to some of the most prestigious juried art shows in Florida.
Dan Balk specializes in unique, one-of-a-kind, sterling silver jewelry designs
for men and women. Each piece is lovingly fabricated by hand using raw materials, or through the lost wax casting method.
The lost wax process was used by ancient cultures over two thousand years ago. The name “lost wax casting” owes its origin to the fact that an expendable wax pattern was formed of the object to be cast, and, in the process that followed, this wax pattern was surrounded by a heat resistant plaster compound to form a mold and when the mold was heated the wax melted out and was “lost”.
Hand fabrication implies the piece of jewelry was made by hand by the artist, without the use of casting. Daniel employs both methods as to not limit the creative process by the technical boundaries of either technique.
The Balks have donated a number of custom
pieces to local and nation auctions & fundraisers. The gallery also
hosts private parties including but not limmited to Political
Fundraisers, Religious Fundraisers, Bridal Showers and more. We also
host Meet the Artist Events and monthly Art on 19th St. Events.
